Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on the 21st of September the 21st of September 1983 in Worthington Ohio, is an American actor. She is famous for her roles as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills respectively in ABC's Lost television series. Maggie Grace, originally from Worthington located in Ohio dropped out of high school in order to move into Los Angeles after her divorced parents. They were struggling to survive and was offered her first role in acting in Rachel's Room's lead character. In 2002 she was nominated to receive a Young Artist Award with her part as the 15-year-old murdered Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford played the lead actress in Lost for its first two seasons. In 2004, she won the Screen Actors Guild Award with all of the ensemble. Grace left the television series in the year 2005, to take on the role of a greater part in films, having appeared opposite Tom Welling as Kim Mills in Taken. She starred as a character in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in both 2007 and Taken (2008) alongside Liam Neeson. In 2008, she reprised the role Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is a modern interpretation that the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role of Shannon for two additional episodes of Lost including the series finale. In 2013, she was in the sixth season of Californication. The actress portrays Faith as a groupie, as well as a model for the stars. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. As a member of the Gyllenhaal family she is the daughter of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs and the older sibling of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. In her early teens She appeared in small roles in her father's movies and was co-starring with her sister in Donnie Darko which is a popular cult movie. Then she appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). The leading roles of Gyllenhaal in Secretary, the romantic comedy-drama erotico and Sherrybaby (a dramatic) have earned her nominations to the Golden Globe Awards. In the wake of several successful commercial films such as World Trade Center in 2006 she gained greater recognition in the role of Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). In recognition of her role as the single mom in Crazy Heart (2009) she received a nomination for Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She subsequently starred in the dramatics and comedies: Nanny McPhee as well as the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Will Not Back Down (2012). Other roles she has played includes Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013 Action thriller), actors in Frank (2014 Drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018) in addition to The Kindergarten Teacher. Gyllenhaal made her debut as a director and writer in 2021, with her drama about psychological issues The Lost Daughter. For this movie, she received with the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and was nominated for an Academy Award.
